Lima | Drops
- HOW IT'S MADE
- PROJECT IDEAS
Lima is your trusty everyday sweater yarn. With the durability of Peruvian Highland wool and softness of the added superfine alpaca, Lima is a reliable choice for all sorts of different garments and accessories. It's especially great for beginners because it's a nice even DK weight, and it's more affordable than a merino or fully alpaca yarn.
Like most wools, Peruvian Highland wool has many incredible qualities such as being temperature regulating, moisture and sweat wicking, water and wind resistant, and durable. But because of the alpaca fiber, Lima also has a softness and loftiness that adds a more luxurious feel to your work.

Both the wool and alpaca are sourced from farms in Peru, where mulesing is not practiced. The fibers in Lima are untreated, which means that they are only washed and not exposed to any chemical treatment prior to the dyeing. This highlights the fibers’ natural properties, while it provides also a better shape and texture quality. You can learn more about Drops' sustainability values here.
