About Us.
Here at Fia Fia, we believe knitting should be simple, beautiful, and approachable. And that high quality supplies should be easily accessible to our fellow Maritimers, and Canadians.
We have a carefully curated selection of brands, some of which are new to Halifax, new to Nova Scotia, or new to the East Coast as a whole.
All of our brands are very special to us, and have been deliberately chosen for a variety of reasons that are close to our hearts. Things we consider when choosing these brands are the overall quality, the brand's stance on sustainability, the price tag for our consumer, and the uniqueness of their products.
We hope you enjoy the brands and products we've brought in so far, and we very much look forward to growing this Fia Fia community.

Our FIbers.
One of our biggest pet peeves when shopping for yarns is having to pick up skein after skein, looking for the little bit of text on the label that tells us the fiber content.
At Fia Fia, whether you're in-person or online, you'll find it easy to see the exact fiber makeup of every product. No more searching or wondering - you'll have the peace of mind knowing that whatever you pick up will be made of 100% natural fiber.
Because at Fia Fia, we don't carry any yarns with synthetic fibers in them. This means that every single skein, ball, or cone of yarn in our shop is made up of 100% natural materials - and in some cases, recycled materials!
We believe that fiber and sustainability go hand-in-hand. We believe that fiber - and the clothing you make with it - should be naturally biodegradable and have a closed-loop life cycle. Plus, natural fibers not only wear better over time, they feel much nicer on the skin!
But we also believe that you shouldn't have to break the bank, or sacrifice quality, to create a beautiful handmade item. That's why we've worked hard - and will continuously work hard - to bring you all-natural yarns at a variety of price points.
Because we believe high quality materials should be accessible for all.

We would like to acknowledge that Fia Fia is located in Mi’kma’ki, on land that is the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. We honour the land, water, animals, and the continued efforts of the indigenous people working to protect them. We are all Treaty People.
