We are a very small team here at Fia Fia, and we unfortunately don't have the capacity to run the shop during the day while answering phone calls. However, we are very quick & responsive over email, and are happy to help you with whatever you need!

Sadly, our store is not easily accessible for people with physical disabilities. We have railings on all the steps, but there are a total of four steps to get up to our front door, which may be difficult or not possible for some. We're working hard to get lots of high quality photos of our products up on the site for those who can't come into our shop. And we hope to move into an accessible space in the future. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

We are within a short walking distance from bus stops along Routes #2 and #3 (North Street), #4 and #90 (Windsor Street), as well as #8, #7A, and #7B (Robie Street).

There is plenty of free daytime street parking on both sides of Summit Street, as well as the surrounding streets, and at the Sobey's parking lot on Windsor Street.

We try to keep our shop lighting warm and cozy, and not too bright while still bright enough to see all the yarn colours properly. We also try to keep our music low-key and at a comfortable volume. If you feel you need the lights or the music turned down, please don't hesitate to ask. We are more than happy to accommodate!

We do not have a washroom for customer use at the moment. However, there is a public washroom at the Sobey's right across the street.

We offer returns and exchanges on all of our products within 30 days of purchase, as long as the items are unopened and in perfect condition. We also offer returns or exchanges on unused yarn, as long as it is unopened and in perfect condition. Learn more about our returns here.

If you're not happy with your order, you can return it to us for a refund or exchange. The order must be posted by trackable mail within 7 days of receiving it. Unfortunately, because we are a small business, we do expect the customer to pay for the return shipping costs. Once we recieve the order, we'll fulfill the refund or exchange. Learn more here.

We actually don't use paper receipts at our shop. If you don't have your emailed or texted receipt, we may be able to find your purchase in our system based on the email/phone number you gave, or the purchase date and amount. Online orders should always have a virtual trail, as you'll get sent multiple confirmation emails.

Free shipping is available for our Canadian customers on orders over $150 CAD before tax. The free shipping will be automatically applied during your checkout. This is combinable with our first-time purchase discount and sale items as well.

We offer flat rate shipping of $8 to residents of Nova Scotia, and $12 for the rest of Canada.

Express shipping is calculated at checkout, and depends on the overall size and weight of the order, as well as the delivery location.

Shipping to the USA costs anywhere from $8 - $35 CAD depending on the weight of the package, the delivery location, and the shipping method. US shipping is calculated at checkout, and you can estimate shipping costs in your cart.

International shipping is calculated at checkout and depends on the destination country, parcel weight, and shipping method.

You'll be able to choose your shipping method at checkout, and you will be able to see an estimated timeframe there.

Standard shipping within Canada and the US normally takes 3-9 business days. Express shipping normally takes 2-3 business days. International shipping times are calculated at checkout.

Please note that these are only estimates, and there can be shipping delays.

We offer in-store pickup, which you can opt for during checkout.

You'll get an email when your order is ready for pickup, and once you do, feel free to come by anytime during our open hours to grab your order!

If you're a person who can't use the stairs to our store, please let us know in your order notes so that we can arrange to meet you curbside with your order.

Yes! We offer a 10% discount on Wednesdays for students and seniors. Students must present a valid ID card, and seniors must be 65+ *in-store only

We're taking a break from workshops right now, as we feel we don't have ample space or time to run them at the moment. But keep an eye on our newsletter for updates!

Yes! We offer free ball winding for any purchase with skeins or twisted hanks. If you're placing an online order, you can leave us an order note to request ball winding.

Sadly, we don't have the space for a knitting cafe at the moment. Hopefully in the future!
