DESCRIPTION

Fivel is a 2-ply woolen spun yarn made of 100% Norwegian lambswool. This yarn makes lightweight, lofty and warm garments that hold their shape well throughout the years. Because the yarn is so voluminous and airy, you can use a wide range of needle sizes depending on the fabric you want. Fivel is also great for colourwork or cabled projects, as its "toothiness" will make knitting with those techniques easier.

HOW IT'S MADE

Tucked into a beautiful Norwegian fjord in Romsdalen, Rauma Garn has been producing high quality yarns for almost 100 years. Fivel is one of their 100% Norwegian wool yarns, meaning that it's carded, twisted, spun, washed, dyed, and skeined right in their factory using local Norwegian lambswool. PROJECT IDEAS

Fivel is lofty, warm, and toothy - making it especially perfect for colourwork projects like fair isle or intarsia, and for textured stitches or cables. It will hold up your stitches well, and create a warm but breathable fabric.
