This classic drop spindle is a great choice if you tend to like working on bottom whorl spindles. It's a little heavier, weighing at 90 grams, so this spindle will spin longer and slower than a lighter weight spindle, making it great for long-staple fibres, fibres that don't require high twist, thicker yarns, or plying singles.

HOW IT'S MADE
Ashford was founded in 1934 by Walter Ashford in Christchurch, New Zealand. Today, it is run by Walter's grandson James Ashford and his husband Dave. The Ashford factory is now located outside of Christchurch, and makes high quality spinning and weaving tools from fine beech hardwood, as well as combed fibre including mulesing-free NZ Corriedale and Merino.
