Peruvian | Filcolana
Peruvian is a lovely soft worsted-weight wool, perfect for those sweater projects. This yarn is beautiful knit up on it's own, but it's also lovely with a strand of mohair or alpaca added to it.
Like most wools, Peruvian Highland wool has many incredible qualities such as being temperature regulating, moisture and sweat wicking, water and wind resistant, and durable. Peruvian Highland wool comes from sheep that are a cross between merino and corriedale, meaning it's a naturally very soft wool as well.

HOW IT'S MADE
Peruvian Highland wool is sourced from farms in Peru, where mulesing is not practiced. This yarn is also spun and dyed in a mill right in Peru, and then sent to Filcolana's warehouse in Kjellerup, Denmark to be packaged. Read more about Filcolana here.
PROJECT IDEAS
Peruvian is worsted spun, which makes the strand round and very even. This gives a beautiful stitch definition and therefore suitable for cables, texture patterns and stranded knitting. You can also hold Peruvian with a lace-weight mohair or alpaca to add extra softness, warmth, and fluffiness.
