BFL 2/8 | Fleece Artist

Hand dyed right here in Halifax, BFL 2/8 is a fingering weight yarn made from 100% Blue Face Leicester wool. BFL is known for it's strength and softness, making it a wonderful choice for those warm winter woolens. You also get an astounding 500 metres on a single skein!

Like most wools, BFL has many incredible qualities such as being temperature regulating, moisture and sweat wicking, water and wind resistant, and durable. Wool rarely needs washing, and other than the occasional spot-clean, airing out your woolens on a breezy day is often enough to refresh them fully!

This yarn is a great choice for everything from sweaters to cardigans to hats and mitts. Because of how this yarn is spun, BFL 2/8 is also great for colourwork projects like intarsia and fair isle. You could also hold this yarn double-stranded to get a DK weight gauge, and the variegated colours will overlap and play off of eachother in amazing and unexpected ways!
