Kid-Silk | Drops

Drops Kid-Silk is a very similar yarn to Knitting for Olive's Soft Silk Mohair. It's a lace-weight yarn meant to be held with other yarns like merino, alpaca, cotton, silk, or linen. For this mohair, we've chosen some colours that aren't available in the Knitting for Olive version. 

Because mohair is so fuzzy, you can get away with using larger sized needles and create pieces that are lightweight and airy, but still very warm and cozy for those colder months.

The kid mohair in this yarn is sourced from South America, where mulesing is not practiced. The mulberry silk in this yarn is produced from the silk worm cocoons after the worms have turned into moths and flown away. You can read more about Drops' sustainability values here.

Mohair is like the social butterfly of yarns - it loves to be with other yarns! You can hold this mohair with a wool for a super warm and cozy garment, or you can hold it with a cotton, linen, or silk - for a garment that's warm, but not too warm. You can also hold this mohair double-stranded or single-stranded on its own for a full mohair moment!
