Billie Jean Yarn | Wool & The Gang
- HOW IT'S MADE
- PROJECT IDEAS
Billie Jean is my lover - because she's made with upcycled denim scraps! This yarn feels like a nice smooth cotton, and knitting with any of the multi-stranded colours will give your project a beautiful marled effect.
Cotton yarns have beautiful drape, and are nice and matte. They're easy to clean and take care of, and they also tend to be more affordable than their cellulose sibling Linen.

Billie Jean Yarn has been made from pre-consumer denim remnants from production at denim mills. This yarn has been made in collaboration with The New Denim Project, a project within a 3rd generation family textile factory, promoting conscious consumption and investment in sustainable materials. The great news is that the whole process involves no chemicals or dyes and saves on average an incredible 20,000 litres of water per kilogram of upcycled material.
You can use Billie Jean like you would any other cotton yarn. We think it would be great for any summertime knits like tank tops and shorts, but it would also look incredible as an oversized sweater for those times you want to be warm, but not too warm. Plus, cotton's durability makes it great for totes and bags!
